Vassilis Tsabropoulos, "Akroasis" - CD izdevums, ECM Records.
Greek pianist Vassilis Tsabropoulos in his first solo album, with a fascinating programme of adaptations of Byzantine hymns and improvisations inspired by this ancient material. The hymns here - played with great respect as well as a poetic freedom - are pieces traditionally sung during the Easter period in Orthodox churches.
